A new postdoctoral fellow, Julia Szulecka, joins the SusValueWaste project. Julia will be based at TIK, UiO and work in the WP5 (Policy trends, complementarities and contradictions). She holds an MSc in Political Science from the VU Amsterdam and a PhD in Forestry and Land Economics from TU Dresden and the University of Padova. She is mostly interested in wood waste but will contribute to the general analysis of OW policy.
Waste and other residual materials from industries and households are of increasing value in today’s economy. Substances that have long represented a cost to the economy are now becoming a valuable resource. Exploiting the full potential of these resources requires increased innovation, systemic change as well as better regulation and governance.
